Privacy Policy

AGC COAT-TECH Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the "ACT"), complies with laws and regulations related to the protection of personal information and its Personal Information Protection Policy established herebelow, and takes the utmost care in handling such information, to maintain trust in ACT and meet expectations of society. ACT takes all commercially reasonable measures to protect the privacy of customers who visit our website.

ACT Personal Information Protection Policy

ACT recognizes the essential importance of the proper and adequate protection of personally identifiable information of individuals, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers etc., of our customers, business partners, and all other parties concerned with our business operations (hereinafter "Personal Information"). Recognizing its social responsibility, ACT hereby establishes the following basic policies (hereinafter "Policy") to comply with laws and regulations with respect to the protection of privacy and Personal Information:

  1. When ACT collects any Personal Information, ACT will specify the purpose of its use, and will collect the information through the fair and legal means.
  2. ACT will use Personal Information only for the business purpose that we have indicated when collecting. If ACT wishes to use Personal Information beyond the original purpose that we have indicated, ACT shall obtain an approval from the individual to whom such Personal Information relates (hereinafter "Owner"), except as allowed by relevant laws and regulations.
  3. When handling Personal Information, ACT will appoint an appropriate person who is responsible for the protection of Personal Information within ACT, and shall strive to strictly manage Personal Information to prevent its illegal access, loss, falsification or leakage.
  4. Unless otherwise authorized by the Owner or allowed by relevant laws and regulations, ACT will not provide Personal Information to any third party. In addition, when providing such Personal Information to any third party as authorized or allowed above, ACT will execute an agreement with the third party or take any other measures that obligates the third party to be responsible for the management of the Personal Information to be provided, thereby preventing its leakage to any other party or other misuse.
  5. ACT will promptly respond to requests to disclose, correct, add and/or delete Personal Information from the Owner, to the commercially reasonable extent.
  6. ACT will comply with relevant laws and regulations with regard to the protection of Personal Information, and also constantly review its implementation of the Policy, and strive to make further improvements.
  7. ACT will completely inform of this Policy to all of its directors, officers and employees (including temporary staffs) as well as other concerned parties, to ensure that each of them understands the importance of the Policy and conducts him or herself in an appropriate manner to follow the Policy.

Purpose of Collecting Personal Information

ACT shall use any Personal Information only for the purposes of providing or improving the products, services and relevant information of ACT, and to respond to inquiries made by the Owner of Personal Information. (If the purpose of use of Personal Information is shown by each service category, ACT uses such Personal Information in accordance with the above purpose.) If ACT wishes to use Personal Information for any other purpose than those defined above, ACT shall disclose the purpose of use when collecting such Personal Information. Customers who do not wish to provide personal information to ACT can opt out; however, customers should understand that they may not be able to use certain services if ACT does not receive the requested information.
Note: ACT may ask customers to provide personal information during service registration or at other times. ACT takes the utmost care in handling personal information, as described in its Privacy Policy.

Use of Personal Information

ACT basically only uses personal information provided by customers for the previously indicated purposes and for corresponding with customers. ACT does not use customer information for any other purpose. When providing special services (for example, confirmation of service applications), ACT may ask customers to provide personal information; however, in such a case ACT will clarify the need to collect personal information and ask customers if they want to opt in. If a situation arises in which there is a need for ACT to use a customer's personal information for a reason beyond the stated purpose, ACT will notify customers of the new purpose beforehand. If customers would prefer not to allow their information to be used for the new purpose, they may opt out.

ACT does not disclose Personal Information to any third parties.

ACT will not disclose registered personal information to any third party except as follows:

  • With customer approval
  • For a purpose indicated to the customer, ACT may disclose personal information only to the extent necessary, to our affiliated companies and entrusting parties with whom ACT has executed a non-disclosure agreement beforehand.
  • When used as statistical data in which unique individuals cannot be identified.
  • When a judicial or administrative organization requests that ACT disclose personal information pursuant to a legal obligation or in accordance with the law.
  • If based on reasonable judgment it seems necessary to disclose personal information to protect customer's and/or ACT's rights.

AGC CT strictly manages Personal Information.

ACT strives to strictly manage Personal Information, and practices necessary, appropriate and strict security measures to prevent illegal access, loss, destruction, falsification or leakage. ACT stores personal information in a safe environment that cannot be accessed by general users.


The ACT website sometimes uses "cookies". Cookies are small strings of information (text files) sent by a web server that are sometimes stored on the customer's hard disk. By using cookies the ACT website can record which site a user has visited. In addition, on member sites ACT sometimes uses cookies together with registered user information to provide services.
